Ni hao! I just went on my 6 days tour of Beijing to Xi’an. I really saw and experienced so much in just a few days. My flight that I had booked had been cancelled due to bad weather so I was concerned I would miss the start of my tour. The teamwork from ChinaWayz and Tourradar was fantastic and within a short time I was WeChatting with my tour leader Michael who assured me I would miss nothing. He was right. He was so accommodating and kind. I did expect to be part of a travelling group for the 6 days but instead it was some days on my own with my tour guide (private guided tour! which meant if we had time we could go see or do other things we could. For example one day we got to go to the Zoo and see the Pandas which wasn’t part of the itinerary but we had spare time. So that was really great! ) Michael was able to tell me a lot about the history of Beijing which I found fascinating particularly when we were walking through the Forbidden City. It was an enjoyable experience with him. On the Great Wall tour we joined in with a group of passengers from Iran which was interesting and again a great day. A few of us were able to climb the Great Wall which was exhilarating to experience! We had the Iranian tour guide with us – Mohammad; and he was also a pleasure to meet. I cannot say a bad word about any of the guides! They were all so very good. I got to see a Kung Fu show which was great (4th row from the front tickets!), ate Peking duck and saw the old Beijing and the Hutongs too. The hotel was very nice. My room was huge and the facilities were awesome. A lounge, tea and coffee. The shower was nice and it had bathrobes too! My only complaint was the bed was a little hard but I think this is the culture in China as I experienced it at all the hotels (so be ready for harder beds when travelling to China!) The breakfast buffet was really good. All in all the Beijing part of my journey turned out to be amazing! A big thanks to Michael for his great knowledge, kindness and company and of course for taking photos for me! I enjoyed meeting you! The next part of my tour went to Xián. I took a flight (included in the tour price) and for the next 2 or so days also enjoyed being a tourist in this pretty city. I had a great hotel again but unfortunately the bed was hard again. The breakfast was at the Sofitel and wow was it outstanding! During Xián I had 2 different guides- Stephen who took us to the Terracotta Warriors. He was great and even gave us a Mandarin lesson! I joined in with a group of British tourists. For the night time program I got to see a vibrant singing and dancing show about the Tang Dynasty. I really enjoyed the show and dinner was Dumplings. They were soo good. Many varieties. i joined in with another group who were lovely and from America. The next day was the city tour with Ruth. I had a great time with her. The day started out with a bike ride on the city wall which was amazing and then we got to see the Small White Goose Pagoda and these trees were like 1000 years old. She was also very knowledgeable. We went for a brief shop through the Muslim Quarter and then had an included lunch which was delicious. The whole tour wasn’t rushed in the slightest. All the guides were really lovely and a pleasure to meet. I felt safe in their company and well looked after. The things to see and do on the itinerary were superb. If you are planning a trip to China then this could be the very tour for you!
